Structure

The East Region of the SJFA was formed in 2002 as part of the total Reconstruction of Scottish Junior Football and is now commencing its 17th Season. This change involved the amalgamation of the former East Region (Lothians), Fife and Tayside.

The East Region was further restructured from season 2019-20. The East Region operates the following 4 leagues with 38 clubs. In each Super League and South Premier League clubs play each other three times with 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. In the North Premier League which consists of 8 teams Clubs play each 4 times with 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. Admission to Super League team matches is Adult £6, Child & Senior Citizens £3, whereas, admission to Premier League team matches is Adult £5, Child & Senior Citizens £3. Promotion, relegation and play-offs take place at the end of each season - details below. Where a Super League team and a Premier League team play in cup ties, Super League prices apply. Finals are charged at Adult £7, Child & Senior Citizens £3.

McBookie.com East Super Leagues - 10 clubs with bottom 2 clubs relegated each season, The winners of both Super Leagues enters a two-legged play-off to determine the overall Super League Champions.

McBookie.com Premier League North and South - 10 Clubs in South and 8 Clubs in the North each division with top 2 clubs promoted automatically to the Super League.

The DJ Laing East Region Cup

DJ Laing

All teams in the region take part in this competition which is a knock-out competition. All matches played to a finish with penalties after 90 minutes, if required. Matches up to and including the semi-final take place at the home venue of the club drawn first.

Round 1 - 6 ties.
Round 2 - 16 ties.
Round 3 - 8 ties.
Quarter-finals - 4 ties.
Semi-finals - 2 ties.
Final - played at a neutral venue.

 

V Tech SMT Fife & Lothians Cup

VTech

This competition is open to clubs in the Fife and Lothian areas of the region. All ties are decided by a single match with winners decided by penalty shoot out if necessary.

Round 1 - 4 ties.
Round 2 - 8 ties.
Quarter-finals - 4 ties.
Semi-finals - 2 ties.
Final - played at a neutral venue.

 

The Thorntons Property Cup

All teams in the region take part in this competition which is a knock-out competition. All matches played to a finish with penalties after 90 minutes, if required. Matches up to and including the semi-final take place at the home venue of the club drawn first.

Round 1 - 6 ties.
Round 2 - 16 ties.

Semi-finals - 2 ties.
Final - played at a neutral venue.

 

The Quest Precision Engineering Cup

This competition is open to clubs in the Tayside and North region. All ties are decided by a single match with winners decided by penalty shoot out if necessary.
