Auchinleck Talbot lift their 15th Scottish Junior Cup
Auchinleck Talbot lifted the Scottish Communities Cup for a record 15th time yesterday at Broadwood Stadium, in front of a crowd of 3,481 and LIVE on BBC Alba.
Lewis Davidson gave Largs an early lead in only the 6th minute in an enthralling first half, and following a battle of the two sides and a flurry of substitutions in the second 45, Auchinleck Talbot mounted a very late comeback with an 85th minute equaliser from Cameron Keay and an injury time winner from Cammy Crooks.
Commiserations to Largs Thistle and their band of excellent supporters, who turned up in their numbers & cheered their team on for the entire afternoon. A difficult one to take when they had led the match for such a long time, but sure their Manager Stuart Davidson will reflect on their amazing Cup run with satisfaction.
Congratulations to Auchinleck Talbot, the late comeback sparked wild scenes amongst their players and travelling support. And this is not only Manager Tommy Sloan's 9th Scottish win as a Manager (10th overall) and his 39th trophy as Auchinleck Talbot Manager. A remarkable record, and one that shows no sign of letting up as yet.
