Whitletts - More Changes

MARTY LAWRIE JOINS FAULDHOUSE

Defender Martin Lawrie has been released by the Club and has joined East Region side Fauldhouse United. Marty, who lives in West Lothian had been travelling through to Ayr for training and matches and felt that he needed to play nearer home due to his family commitments.

"It was becoming too difficult to keep travelling such a long way for training and playing matches."

"Fauldhouse made me an offer which I have agreed. They are currently sitting second in the East Premier League and I'm looking forward to joining them and hopefully I can help them to achieve their goal of promotion to the Superleague.

" I'm sorry to be leaving Vics. They are a great club to be involved with and I hope that they can progress to achieve their own promotion ambitions and gain promotion to teh new Championship next season."

Chairman John Dalton said that the Club were disapointed that Marty was moving on.

"Marty goes with the best wishes of everyone at Whitletts Victoria. He is a quality, experienced player and a leader and Fauldhouse will reap the benefits of our loss but we fully understand his circumstances and wish him every success with his new club."

DUNCAN LEAVES VICS

Following on from the departure of manager Neil Duffy at the weekend, assistant Duncan George has also left the Club by mutual consent. Chairman John Dalton thanked Duncan for his services to the Club.

"Duncan joined the Club as Neil's assistant towards the end of last season and has done some sterling work with the players. He is an excellent coach and has great football knowledge but I spoke to him after Neil stepped down and it was felt that it would be best if he stepped back from his coaching role as well."

"On behalf of the Club I'd like to thank him for his service to Whitletts Victoria and wish him every success wherever his football travels may take him in future."
