WHITLETTS VICTORIA SIGNING NEWS

Whitletts manager Rikki Ryland has started rebuilding his squad for the Clubs’ forthcoming league campaign.

Ryland may have lost the services of last seasons’ Player of the Year, Lee Holland who has hung up his boots while Martin Reynolds is looking to play amateur football next season due to his work commitments. Influential midfielder Ricky Hanvey and Alan Love have also stepped up to the Superleague with Kilwinning Rangers and Maybole respectively.

However the Vics boss has moved to secure the services of midfielder Chris Black from his former club Saltcoats, central defender Calum Hercus from Dalry and full back David Mathieson who latterly was with Lugar.

“All three are very talented young players” said Rikki. “Chris has had interest in him from senior clubs as well as Superleague outfits and I’m delighted that he has agreed to put pen to paper to continue his development with Whitletts.”
“Calum Hercus is also a player I know well. A young powerful central defender who is still learning his trade which he will do playing alongside the experience of Raymond Buchanan. While David Mathieson came in to the side as a trialist at the end of last season and was outstanding in our win over Kilwinning.”
And the Vics manager has confirmed that he will casting his eye over a number of other players during the clubs pre-season matches that start this weekend with a trip to play South of Scotland league side, Fleet Star.
