Moff Donates His Boots

Ayr United striker Michael Moffat has put his football boots up for auction with the proceeds going to the testimonial fund for his friend and Whitletts Victoria skipper Graham Longair.
Michael Moffat has autographed the boots with which he scored 27 goals this season to finish the campaign as the top goalscorer in League One.

‘The Moff’ made his donation as details of the Testimonial Funday ticket was announced at the Black Bull in River Street, Ayr, who are one of the sponsors of the event.

Testimonial Committee Chairman Andrew Downie was delighted by the United striker’s donation.
“Michael Moffat is a legend amongst Ayr United supporters and one of the best finishers in the game as he proved this season ending up as top scorer in League One. To score 27 goals in a season is no mean feat at any level but to finish as the divisions’ top scorer especially when you consider the number of goals Rangers scored, is no mean feat. However while Michael has taken his chance in the senior game, he has fond memories of his time in the junior game with Girvan and appreciates the commitment of players like Graham Longair who can spend so long with one club at this level.”

The Funday event on Sunday 1st June, will launch Graham Longair’s testimonial when a Graham Longair Xi, a team of ex-teammates and Ayr United players take on the famous Dukla Pumpherston, the celebrity charity side that consists of ex-players and celebrities from throughout Scotland.
The event will also consist of bouncy castles, a bar, BBQ and face painting. Doors open at 1pm with the main event kicking off at 2.30pm.

Tickets for the event, priced at £5 adults and £2.50 concessions can be purchased in advance from the Black Bull and The Ship Inn or from club officials You can also bid for the boots via twitter @wvfc_official or e-mail your bid for the boots to testimonial@whitlettsvictoria.com stating your offer, name, address and contact details in the e-mail.
The highest bid will be updated on the www.whitlettsvictoria.com club website and also on the clubs’ facebook page Whitletts Victoria Juniors, with the highest bidder at 8pm on Sunday 1st June becoming the proud owner of the boots
