Scotland finish in second place

Scotland’s Junior side easily saw off the Isle of Man 6-0 yesterday, however they had to settle for second place overall in the four team Umbro Quadrangular Tournament in Limerick.
Keith Burgess’ side went into their final game having defeated Northern Ireland 3-1 on Friday, however Thursday’s 3-0 defeat from the host nation was to prove decisive despite their handsome success in this encounter.
Scotland scored early thanks to a header from Colin Leiper of Camelon and a penalty from Pollok’s Richie Barr had the Dark Blue side 2-0 ahead at the break.
Bo’ness’ Steven Hislop made it three 4 minutes into the restart and the striker went on to grab himself a hat-trick after Barr had added his second goal of the afternoon.
The Republic of Ireland took over from Scotland as the Tournament winners after they followed up their wins over the Scots and the Isle of Man with a 1-0 triumph over Northern Ireland.
