George Anton, Whitletts Vics
Whitletts Victoria FC are saddened to learn of the death of our former goalkeeper George Anton at the age of 77.
George was a key member of the Vics squad that reached the semi finals of the Scottish Junior Cup in 1956, losing 3-2 to the eventual winners Petershill.
George went on to play for many years in the senior game with Kilmarnock, Stranraer (twice) and Ayr United before finishing his career in the junior game with Annbank United.
