Maguire swaps Peterhead for Cumnock

Former Airdrie, East Stirling and Peterhead striker Stephen Maguire has swapped the Third Division for the junior ranks on a permanent basis after signing for Cumnock.

The 26 year old front man was recruited to the Blue Toon 18 months ago by his former boss at the Shire, Jim McInally, however he ended up on loan at Shotts Bon Accord after a change in working circumstances made it difficult for Maguire to travel to training.

He was released by the Balmoor men at the end of the season and has now agreed to join up with the Ayrshire side.

Meechan heads for the Rose

Former Motherwell midfielder Steven Meechan has ended his pre-season training period with Third Division Albion Rovers and headed for junior side Linlithgow Rose.
Meechan made 4 top team appearances during his two years at Fir Park and he had a loan spell with the Coatbridge side in 2010 before heading for England the following year.
After a season playing at Kettering Town Meechan joined junior side Kirkintilloch Rob Roy last August and his form there led to an opportunity to become a Rover however he has now headed for Prestonfield.
