The Ayrshire coast was the only place to see Junior football in the West Region yesterday as 5 games beat the big freeze.

In the Super League First Division Largs Thistle lost top spot when they went 3-1 to visitors Kilbirnie Ladeside.

Malone scored either side of half time before Craig made it 3-0 to Kilbirnie with Largs grabbing a late consolation through a Craig goal in the last minute.

Hurlford have taken over at the summit after an impressive 5-1 win at Whitletts where all six goals came in the first half.

Brown along with Eeles and Watt, who both hit doubles scored for the visitors with Brown completing an unfortunate double of his own when he put the ball into his own net.

Renfrew moved upwards in the table with a 3-1 success at Ardrossan who had taken the lead through Cunningham’s goal on 27 minutes.

Gilmour equalised before half-time with Zok scoring a double after Rovers’ Kennedy was dismissed early in the second half.

In the Ayrshire District League leaders Kilwinning snatched a 2-1 win at Saltcoats with the last kick of the game. McClelland had levelled the score after Rangers had broken the deadlock just after half-time, however their rear-guard action after Ferris was dismissed ended in disappointment.
